Weekend on Little House

This was a picture of it snowing hard over the weekend. It hasn't stop snowing for Mick sense he went back to the cabin.

We finally made it back to the cabin after 5 months of being gone. As you can see it is boarded up still for I can not lift a thing and he is not strong enough to do it so we just waited for someone to show to help get the boards off.

We Have Power! This is the Generator!

These are all pictures of the inside of the cabin. Turn the one sideways and you will see me looking into the kitchen area.

This is silly Mick headed out to get firewood for the wood stove! I just get a kick out of the hat.

Pendleton 100 Yr Round-Up

This morning I got up early to be the first one on line to buy Rodeo Tickets for the Friday or Saturday Show. The reason behind going to buy the tickets is they have all been sold out for years on those days and these are the tickets people did not pay by the deadline, so they put them up for the public to buy. This is their 100 yr anniversary. So out the door I go at 7am with a friend who is buying them for her daughter. We drove up to the round-up grounds and not a person there. So we think well we have time and this is no big deal. We go and get something to drink and go to work for a while. That's when we get word we are at the wrong place for tickets. We rush down to the place to find a line around the building down the street. Over a hour later I get to buy tickets for the Saturday Show. 2 Of them. It was like owning the 2 hottest tickets in town. There was not much choice left but I was just happy to get them. My friend ended up buying 10 tickets for both days.

Good Dr Visit

Today I went to see the Dr it has been 2 weeks after my wonderful surgery. She said everything looks good and I am on the road to recovery. I have 6 more weeks of full recovery but it all looks great.

I told her about my cramps and she said it's my laxative I take. She switched me to something different. She then put me on a hormone cream 3 days a week.

I am back to work full time. I get worn out easy but I enjoy my job so much that I just can't stay away. More on my job later!

Making Life Changes

I am returning to work 2moro and I am so excited. It's not that I haven't hung out there a lot of last week. My first day back I have a all day training, That is less stressful I think then dealing with the day to day business.

I am feeling so good today! It doesn't seem like I had surgery 10 days ago. I can feel all the stitches but that is about it. I have about 5 more weeks of recovery of no lifting anything over 5lbs. I am not taking but about 1-2 Ibuprofen a day. I go see both Dr's this week. The only big issue is I wake up in the night fully drenched in sweat from head to toe. My bed is soaked I am soaked. My room is not warm I have a fan running all the time. Does this happen to any of you? Oh one other thing as I sit here the cramps come on. I never had cramps in my life. Now I get horrible cramps. I never understood when people who work for me called in saying they had bad cramps. Now I know and will understand what there feeling.

I think my hardest thing is "Making Life Long Changes" I will never be able to lift HEAVY things again. I use to think I was like the hulk and look at me I can lift this or that no problem. Not any more! I will never be able to lift over 40lbs. This will keep me from having this prolapse return and the end to hernias. I have 2 more hernias that need operated on but that's is down the road.

Slow Recovery

I hate staying home and not being able to go do what I want! Yesterday I decided to get out of the house and go for a drive. 20 miles later I was worn out. By the time we got home I was in to much pain to sit up or do anything. I refuse to take the Oxycontin or vicidan pills. They make me sick as a dog and high as a kite, which I can not do either of. So I take the Ibuprofen 600mg every 4 hours. My question of the year would be you see these shows where people eat 2-4 pills or more of these all day. How do they do this? I can barley do 1 pill. Not that is something I would do I just wonder how it does not eat their stomach alive.

Today I have relaxed a lot. I wondered over to my work to eat lunch with the clients. They were all so excited to see me. One client said Carol your late. I just had to laugh. It was a nice change in my day when I got to eat lunch with them. Mick has been a great help for me here. Always helping me.

Darlene can you please send me your email. I Don't have it. Thanks

I'm Home from Hospital

Just wanted to say I am home and all went well. To explain how this feels or what was happening to me I can sum it up as - For any of you that has had a baby think about walking around with the baby's head hanging out below 24/7 and it never going back in. Not only that having the feeling the tailbone is broke when ever you sat down. It was all very painful. I could not urinate like most people because it was blocked a majority of the time by the bulge coming out. Before I went into surgery both Dr's came in and said it will be about 2 1/2-3hrs in surgery. 4 1/2 hours later they were done. They said I had a hernia the size of a baseball on my intestine. They said they think it has been years sense I have emptied my bladder.

The after effect to surgery is the enjoyment of it not being there anymore. It is a weird feeling and at times I think this is all a dream.

I am in a lot of pain from the surgery. It feels as if I delivered 3 babies at one time. My organs are bruised and my intestines are starting to work normal. My first day home the nausea set in and I was sick as a dog. I could not figure out how could I be ok in the hospital with no nausea for 2 days and the minute I get home I am sick. I figured it out this morning when I could not get up out of bed because I was so sick. When I was int he hospital they put this patch behind my ear that kept the nausea away. Before I left the hospital I took it off not understanding that is what it was. I tried eating toast, drinking milk, it just made me sicker. So I called the DR and and she prescribed a med for the nausea so I can take my meds. It works for about 4 hours before I get sick again and have to wait 2 more hours for more. It will get better in time.

For all it's worth my intestines are working again. it's painful, but worth the surgery. My bladder is not sending it's signal it's time to go. I go every 30 minutes if I am up to keep things moving. It will take 2 months to fully recover. I got out of the house today for a short drive to McDonald's. That wore me out.

Thanks Judy for bringing the girls to visit. I truly love having them here. Thanks for dinner!
