Just wanted to say I am home and all went well. To explain how this feels or what was happening to me I can sum it up as - For any of you that has had a baby think about walking around with the baby's head hanging out below 24/7 and it never going back in. Not only that having the feeling the tailbone is broke when ever you sat down. It was all very painful. I could not urinate like most people because it was blocked a majority of the time by the bulge coming out. Before I went into surgery both Dr's came in and said it will be about 2 1/2-3hrs in surgery. 4 1/2 hours later they were done. They said I had a hernia the size of a baseball on my intestine. They said they think it has been years sense I have emptied my bladder.
The after effect to surgery is the enjoyment of it not being there anymore. It is a weird feeling and at times I think this is all a dream.
I am in a lot of pain from the surgery. It feels as if I delivered 3 babies at one time. My organs are bruised and my intestines are starting to work normal. My first day home the nausea set in and I was sick as a dog. I could not figure out how could I be ok in the hospital with no nausea for 2 days and the minute I get home I am sick. I figured it out this morning when I could not get up out of bed because I was so sick. When I was int he hospital they put this patch behind my ear that kept the nausea away. Before I left the hospital I took it off not understanding that is what it was. I tried eating toast, drinking milk, it just made me sicker. So I called the DR and and she prescribed a med for the nausea so I can take my meds. It works for about 4 hours before I get sick again and have to wait 2 more hours for more. It will get better in time.
For all it's worth my intestines are working again. it's painful, but worth the surgery. My bladder is not sending it's signal it's time to go. I go every 30 minutes if I am up to keep things moving. It will take 2 months to fully recover. I got out of the house today for a short drive to McDonald's. That wore me out.
Thanks Judy for bringing the girls to visit. I truly love having them here. Thanks for dinner!
